Pilot Launches Innovative WACOM Styluses Set for 2026 Release
Pilot, the renowned Japanese brand, has announced the launch of new WACOM styluses scheduled for release in 2026. During the WACOM Connected INK event held in Tokyo, the company revealed three innovative models: the DR. Grip Digital 2, the Pilot Digital Rotation, and the Dual Protocol Pen. These styluses are designed to be compatible with popular e-notebooks, including the Remarkable, Amazon Kindle Scribe, and various BOOX products.
The DR. Grip Digital 2 features an ergonomic design aimed at enhancing user comfort during extended writing or drawing sessions. This stylus incorporates WACOM’s UD pen technology, providing a natural feel that mimics traditional writing instruments. One of its standout features is the soft plastic grip that conforms to the user’s hand, significantly reducing fatigue. Unlike its predecessor, the new version includes a button beneath the gel layer and comes in a variety of new colors.
Another notable addition is the Pilot Digital Rotation, which represents the first generation of this technology. This stylus can seamlessly switch between a digital pen and a digital stylus for e-notebooks, a feature currently unique to Pilot, with Lamy being the only other brand offering similar capabilities through its Twin Safari model. The Pilot Digital Rotation allows users to twist the top to change functions, and it includes a frictionless eraser at the top, effectively erasing pen strokes from paper surfaces.
Additionally, the Dual Protocol Pen stands out as a digital stylus compatible with both Microsoft Surface tablets and Google Chromebooks. This versatility is significant, given that these devices operate on different protocols, making it challenging for styluses to work across both platforms. The anticipated demand for this pen is high, particularly among users of both device types.
Michael Kozlowski, a seasoned writer with 18 years of experience covering audiobooks, e-books, and e-readers, noted the significance of these advancements in digital writing tools. He is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and continues to provide insights into the evolving landscape of digital technology.
With these new styluses, Pilot aims to enhance the digital writing experience, catering to a growing market of users seeking efficient and comfortable tools for their e-notebook needs. As the release date approaches, the excitement around these innovations is expected to build, reflecting Pilot’s commitment to quality and user satisfaction.
