RONA Launches Home Sweet Home Campaign to Support Local Charities

RONA is spearheading its annual Home Sweet Home campaign from September 1 to October 12, 2023, aiming to raise funds for nearly 150 local non-profit organizations. These groups provide essential support to victims of domestic violence, low-income families, and individuals with disabilities or mental health challenges. Donations will be collected across all RONA+ and RONA corporate stores, as well as select distribution centres and affiliated dealer locations.
The campaign’s objective is clear: to generate $500,000 in support of local communities. According to José Lafitte, director of the RONA Foundation, the initiative aligns with the organization’s commitment to making a tangible difference. “What I love most about our Home Sweet Home campaign is that its impact is significant at a local level; indeed, the selected organizations we help are located in the same regions as our stores and distribution centres,” Lafitte stated.
Community Engagement and Fundraising Initiatives
This year, RONA encourages customers to contribute directly to their local causes. In-store patrons will be invited to make donations, while online shoppers can choose to donate $2, $5, or $10 through rona.ca. The RONA Foundation’s board president, Catherine Laporte, emphasized the enthusiasm within the company for the campaign. “Once again this year, everyone in our network is highly motivated to raise funds, especially since our store teams are the ones who decide which organization to support,” she remarked.
The Home Sweet Home campaign underscores RONA’s dedication to community welfare. A comprehensive list of supported organizations is available on the campaign’s webpage, enabling customers to see the direct impact of their contributions in their respective provinces and regions.
As the campaign progresses, RONA aims not only to meet its financial goals but also to strengthen community ties. The initiative highlights the importance of local support networks and reflects RONA’s broader mission of corporate responsibility. With the backing of both employees and customers, the Home Sweet Home campaign represents a collaborative effort to uplift those in need across Canada.
