Canada’s Public Health Agency to Oversee Vaccine Injury Program

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) will assume control of the federal Vaccine Injury Support Program following concerns about the program’s management. This decision follows an investigation launched by the federal health department into the third-party company, Oxaro, which has been administering the program.

The Vaccine Injury Support Program was established in December 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide financial compensation for individuals who experienced adverse effects after receiving vaccines approved by Health Canada.
