Colosseum Concerts Raise Funds for T2B’s Comfort Care Program

The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor will host a series of concerts this fall to benefit the Transition to Betterness (T2B) organization, specifically supporting the Dr. Michelle Prince Comfort Care Tote Program. The initiative aims to alleviate some of the burdens faced by patients undergoing treatment, with proceeds from the concerts being donated directly to this cause.
T2B’s Event and Fundraising Coordinator, Sarah Moxley, highlighted the significance of the tote program, stating, “The tote program is one of our most expensive programs, and unfortunately our most used program.” Each week, T2B distributes between 15 to 20 totes, each costing approximately $100. These totes are thoughtfully filled with essential items, including pillows, tea, mouthwash, and hand cream, all chosen to provide comfort during challenging times.
The program is named in honor of Dr. Michelle Prince, who battled colon cancer and aimed to ease patients’ worries through these care packages. Her husband Eddie Francis expressed the importance of the program, saying, “She always used to say that people always had a lot of things to worry about and if I can take care of that one little thing, that is one less thing they have to worry about.” He emphasized that discussing his wife’s legacy is always a positive experience, reflecting her caring nature and the impact of her journey.
Caesars Windsor President and CEO Kevin LaForet underscored the personal connection to the cause, stating, “It resonates with, particularly my wife and I, Renee, who were really good friends with Michelle.” LaForet expressed pride in supporting a program that embodies the values that Michelle represented.
The concerts scheduled for October and November will feature prominent artists, including Sarah McLachlan, Bryan Adams, and Sebastian Maniscalco. LaForet expressed enthusiasm for the lineup, stating, “We’re very happy about that. And we’re very happy to be providing some of those funds back to the community.”
The initiative not only aims to raise funds but also to honor the memory of Dr. Michelle Prince through continued “quiet giving” that reflects the compassionate spirit she embodied. As the community rallies behind this cause, the upcoming concerts promise to be a significant event in support of those in need.
