Ferragamo Unveils Vibrant Collection at Milan Fashion Week

Milan Fashion Week showcased the latest offerings from Ferragamo on September 23, 2023, with a vibrant collection that emphasized bold color and innovative design. The event took place in the courtyard of the brand’s Portrait Hotel, the same location where Maximilian Davis debuted as creative director three years ago.
Davis’s co-ed collection featured a mix of slinky, seductive womenswear and tailored menswear inspired by the 1920s. The womenswear incorporated sheer fabrics and clingy knits that added a slightly provocative edge, while the menswear displayed broad-shouldered suits paired with long jackets reminiscent of the speakeasy era.
The dresses alternated between sheer chiffons and form-fitting knits, creating a sense of allure. Silken scarves tied around the backs of men’s suits introduced an unexpected sensuality to the silhouettes. The combination of textures and styles evoked the flapper culture, with a generous application of fringe enhancing the nostalgic feel.
Despite the looming threat of rain, the show continued outdoors, with models donning vinyl overcoats as a stylish safeguard. Footwear featured pointed mules with a reverse sculptural heel, adding a unique touch to the overall aesthetic. The accessories, including mini pouches and clutches, often introduced pops of color that enlivened the ensembles.
High-profile guests such as Christy Turlington and Naomi Watts graced the front row, reflecting the collection’s appeal and the significance of the event. The blend of modern design and historical references in Davis’s latest collection has set a vibrant tone for the upcoming fashion season, highlighting Ferragamo’s innovative approach to contemporary style.
Overall, the presentation at Milan Fashion Week not only reinforced Ferragamo’s position in the luxury fashion market but also showcased the creative vision of its new director, promising exciting trends for the future.
