Key Details for Workspace Users

The rollout of Gemini in Chrome comes equipped with essential controls and protections tailored for business and education environments. According to Google, the AI assistant incorporates enterprise-grade data protections, ensuring that user content is not reviewed by humans or utilized for model training without explicit permission.

Workspace administrators will have significant control over the assistant’s features. By default, Gemini will be activated for organizations that have already enabled the Gemini app, but administrators have the option to disable it at the domain, organizational unit, or group level if desired.

There are some initial limitations to consider with this launch. Currently, Gemini in Chrome is only available in the United States and is restricted to English-speaking users aged 18 and older. Additionally, the feature will not be accessible to customers operating under a HIPAA Business Associate Amendment (BAA).
