Montreal Canadiens Secure Long-Term Broadcast Deal with TSN, RDS

The Montreal Canadiens have confirmed a new long-term broadcast agreement with Bell Media, ensuring that the team’s games will continue to be aired on TSN and RDS for the foreseeable future. Announced on March 15, 2024, this agreement guarantees that regional fans will have access to a total of 95 games: 50 on TSN and 45 on RDS. The broadcasts will be available to subscribers within the Canadiens’ designated regions, which include Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
This extension emphasizes the longstanding partnership between the Canadiens and Bell Media. France Margaret Bélanger, president of Groupe CH Sports and Entertainment, expressed enthusiasm about continuing this collaboration. “We’ve been fortunate to count TSN and RDS as valued partners for many years, and we’re thrilled to formally extend this collaboration for years to come,” Bélanger stated. She highlighted that the agreement will enhance fan engagement through live games and additional programming, ensuring that supporters can enjoy the Canadiens in various formats with top-tier production quality.
Shawn Redmond, vice-president of Bell Media Sports, praised the Canadiens as “an iconic franchise with a dynamic roster of exciting young stars.” He noted the importance of this agreement for both the team and the broadcasting networks. “With this new long-term agreement in place, we look forward to continuing to bring Canadiens games to TSN and RDS subscribers,” Redmond said. He added that the regional broadcasts form a crucial part of TSN and RDS’s hockey programming strategy.
The renewed partnership not only underscores the enduring appeal of the Canadiens but also reflects the significance of regional broadcasts in connecting fans to their favorite teams. The deal is expected to bolster viewership and engagement with the Canadiens, further enhancing the relationship between the team, its fans, and the broadcasters.
As the Canadiens prepare for the upcoming season, this broadcast agreement is set to play a pivotal role in their outreach efforts, ensuring that fans across Quebec and Atlantic Canada will not miss any action on the ice. The commitment from TSN and RDS aligns with the Canadiens’ strategic goals of maintaining a strong presence in the Canadian hockey landscape while fostering community support.
