1963 Corvette Designer Peter Brock Auctions Custom Split-Window
A unique piece of automotive history will be up for auction in January 2026. A customized 1963 Chevrolet Corvette split-window, restyled by its original designer, Peter Brock, is set to be auctioned at Mecum Auctions in Kissimmee, Florida. This vehicle is expected to fetch over CDN$500,000 during the auction scheduled for January 16, 2026.
The car, referred to as the “Corvette Studio Concept,” incorporates design elements from Brock’s original sketches of the Corvette, created when he was just 21 years old. The Corvette’s unique styling showcases subtle modifications that enhance its classic design while adding modern performance features.
Brock’s redesigned Corvette made its debut at the SEMA 2024 event, showcasing a silver prototype. This model represents the first of a planned run of 20 vehicles, each to be offered in different color combinations. The specific vehicle being auctioned is one of these 20, personally owned by Brock and now available to collectors and enthusiasts alike.
The Corvette boasts a sophisticated dark blue paint job, known as Azzurro California, and features a nearly all-black chrome finish. The modifications made by Brock are significant yet tasteful, allowing the car to retain its classic appeal.
Among the most notable changes are the redesigned headlights, which have been swapped out for recessed units behind a flush lens. The hood and B-pillar vents have been opened for functionality, addressing Brock’s disdain for faux scoops. Additionally, the rear split-window has been subtly enlarged and is now flush-mounted, while the fenders have been slightly flared to accommodate wider tires wrapped around 18-inch Forgeline wheels that reflect the original rim style.
Inside, the car has been updated with tan and dark blue leather, modern-style bucket seats, and a contemporary steering wheel, further enhancing its blend of classic and modern design.
The build was completed in collaboration with Michael Staveski, the owner of Restomod World. The redesigned body rests on a custom Art Morrison chassis, which integrates components from the C7 Corvette’s front suspension. The powertrain features a heavily tuned 6.2-litre LT4 V8 engine, delivering an impressive 725 horsepower, paired with a Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission. Additional modern touches include Wilwood disc brakes and a Vintage Air A/C system, ensuring that this restomod is as comfortable as it is powerful.
The first public appearance of this customized Corvette occurred at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN) show in Chicago in November 2025, indicating that Brock is not holding onto this remarkable vehicle for long.
While Mecum has not provided a pre-sale estimate for the auction, the silver prototype from the same series previously sold for approximately US$357,000, which equates to around CDN$491,000. The outcome of this upcoming auction will be closely watched by automotive enthusiasts and collectors alike.
As the auction date approaches, excitement builds around the potential sale of this one-of-a-kind Corvette, a testament to both Brock’s original vision and the modern enhancements that make it stand out in the crowded automotive market.
