Marcus Lewis Outlines Bold Plans for U.S. House Campaign
As the 2026 election approaches, Marcus Lewis, a Republican candidate from Illinois, has made his intentions clear regarding his campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives. At 67 years old and having served as an ordained minister since 1999, Lewis is focusing on a platform that emphasizes economic revitalization and strict immigration policies.
In his campaign, Lewis has identified three primary legislative goals for his first year if elected. He aims to stimulate economic growth in District 1 through new business investments aligned with Make America Great Again and America First policies. He is also advocating for the elimination of sanctuary cities and states, along with mass deportations of illegal immigrants. These priorities reflect a hardline stance on immigration, which he considers essential for the district.
Local Issues and Federal Funding Priorities
Lewis’s campaign highlights local concerns that resonate with many residents in his district. He has stated that the revitalization efforts will directly address the economic challenges faced by his constituents. When it comes to federal funding, he advocates for infrastructure improvements, including roads, bridges, broadband access, and public transit systems, viewing these as crucial to the district’s future.
On the matter of congressional authority, Lewis expressed unwavering support for former President Donald Trump, asserting that Trump is restoring America’s position on the global stage. He dismisses claims that Congress has relinquished its Article I powers, claiming that the current administration is undermining the nation’s interests.
Stance on Key National and International Issues
Lewis has taken a firm position on U.S. foreign policy, particularly regarding Ukraine and Israel. He argues for an immediate withdrawal from Ukraine, describing it as a “money pit” and alleging a lack of accountability for U.S. funds sent there. Regarding Israel, Lewis emphasizes the need for an end to the conflict in Gaza, while he expresses support for actions against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
Lewis’s views extend to border security and immigration reform, where he aligns closely with Trump. He insists that the U.S. must secure its borders and strictly limit immigration to legal channels. He also calls for the removal of any illegal immigrants present in the country.
On domestic issues, he advocates for the full funding of Social Security and Medicare as a means of ensuring their longevity. He criticizes the current healthcare system, particularly Obamacare, labeling it ineffective and unaffordable. His proposed solutions include working towards a healthcare system that curbs excessive profits from pharmaceutical companies while providing affordable care for all.
Lewis has expressed his skepticism toward the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) under the Biden administration, claiming it has failed in its duties. He also raises concerns about the implications of artificial intelligence on employment, suggesting that it threatens job security for many.
As his campaign progresses, Lewis remains adamant about his independence from special interests, stating, “Whoever funds you runs you.” He claims he takes no donations, emphasizing that he is guided solely by his convictions and faith.
With the 2026 election looming, Lewis’s campaign promises to address the pressing needs of his district while advocating for policies he believes will strengthen the nation. His hardline positions on immigration, healthcare, and foreign policy signal a commitment to a conservative agenda aimed at revitalizing not just his district but also the broader national landscape.
