											Passenger traffic at Sault Ste. Marie Airport has decreased by 1.8 percent in September compared to the same month last year. This information comes from a recent release by the Sault Ste. Marie Airport Development Corporation. The decline follows a larger drop of 5.9 percent recorded in August 2025, although there was a notable increase of 6.4 percent in July.
Traffic figures over the past two years reveal fluctuations in passenger movement. In September 2025, the airport recorded 12,850 passengers compared to 13,173 in September 2024. This drop is part of a broader trend, as August 2025’s numbers showed 13,653 passengers, down from 16,425 in August 2024. The July 2025 figures, however, were a bright spot, with 13,662 passengers, an increase from 12,834 in July 2024.

Current Flight Operations
Sault Ste. Marie Airport currently hosts several airlines providing a range of flight services. Air Canada Express operates two flights daily. Bearskin Airlines offers three flights on Sundays, four flights daily on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and five flights on Wednesdays. Additionally, Porter Airlines provides two daily flights from Sunday to Friday and one flight on Saturdays.
