Stride Credit Union Launches $200,000 Fund for Community Growth

Stride Credit Union has announced the establishment of the Stride Forward Fund, a new initiative aimed at fostering growth in local communities. The credit union will allocate a total of $200,000 to support various community projects and initiatives, with an application intake period set from September 1 to October 3, 2023.
The fund is designed to be accessible to a wide range of eligible groups, including non-profits and community organizations. Areas targeted for support include Portage la Prairie, which can receive up to $70,000, Neepawa with a cap of $60,000, Gladstone up to $30,000, MacGregor and Austin, each eligible for $20,000.
The Stride Forward Fund aims to continue the credit union’s history of community support. According to a news release, Stride Credit Union has previously contributed to significant local projects such as the Beautiful Plains Ag Society grounds in Neepawa, the Community Centre in Austin, and the Habitat for Humanity build in Neepawa. These contributions highlight the organization’s commitment to enhancing community infrastructure and social welfare.
In its announcement, Stride Credit Union emphasized that the application process has been tailored to ensure ease of access for all eligible community groups. This approach aims to encourage a diverse range of projects that can benefit from the funding.
By investing in local initiatives, Stride Credit Union not only aims to empower communities but also to foster a sense of collaboration and growth among residents. The fund represents a proactive step towards building a robust support system for community development in the regions it serves.
