Abbotsford School Hosts Night Market to Support Local Arts
Shoppers in Abbotsford will have the opportunity to support local students and artisans at the upcoming night market fundraiser, scheduled for November 7, 2023. The event, hosted by the Abbotsford School of Integrated Arts, aims to generate funds for the school’s graduates while showcasing over 30 local vendors offering a variety of handmade goods.
The night market will take place from 16:00 to 22:00 at the school’s Sumas Mountain location. Attendees can enjoy a vibrant atmosphere that includes a face painting station and several food trucks, catering to diverse tastes. Entry into the market is by donation, with all proceeds going directly to support the Sumas Mountain graduates.
Abbotsford School of Integrated Arts is known for its arts-focused curriculum, serving more than 300 students in grades 6 through 12. The event is particularly significant for the school, which currently has approximately 40 graduates. By participating in the night market, community members can play a vital role in enhancing educational opportunities for these students.
Organizers have expressed enthusiasm about the event’s potential to foster community spirit while providing a platform for local craftspeople and vendors. This initiative not only supports the school’s graduates but also strengthens the local economy by promoting small businesses within the area.
As the night market approaches, anticipation is building among both students and vendors. With a blend of community support and local talent, the event promises to be an exciting evening that highlights the creativity and commitment of Abbotsford’s residents.
