A change in speakers has been announced for the opening of the Wild Winter Wednesday (WWW) program season on December 3, 2023, at the Fulton Windmill Cultural Center. Due to a medical emergency involving Dana Starkell, the Volunteer Education Committee has arranged for Hannah Pannell Edfors from Clinton County Conservation to step in. Edfors will present a talk detailing the rich history of Beaver Island.

Edfors, a native of Fulton, has extensive experience in conservation and naturalism. Her deep appreciation for the outdoors and the river has significantly influenced her career. Attendees can expect an engaging presentation that explores the historical significance of Beaver Island.

The event will begin with doors opening at 8:30 a.m., offering guests coffee, hot cider, and baked treats. The program itself is scheduled to commence around 9:15 a.m.. The Windmill Cultural Center is fully accessible for individuals with disabilities, and the event is free and open to the public.

In case of adverse weather conditions leading to school closures, delays, or remote learning at River Bend Schools, the WWW program will be cancelled.

This change highlights the commitment of local organizations to provide educational opportunities, ensuring that the community remains engaged with its history and natural environment.
