Joliet Catholic Academy Sets Dates for Open Houses and Entrance Exam

Joliet Catholic Academy (JCA) has announced the dates for its Open House events, which aim to help prospective students and their families assess whether the school is the right fit for them. These events will take place on November 2, 2024, with tours scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., and on November 6, 2024, with tours at 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.. Pre-registration is required for attendance.

During the Open Houses, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the campus, meet faculty and current students, and delve into JCA’s academic offerings and vibrant student life. “Come and experience the JCA atmosphere for yourself,” said Jared Voss, Director of Admissions. He emphasized the importance of these events for families looking to understand the school’s traditions and educational advantages. Presentations will cover the school’s history, the competitive edge of a JCA education, and details regarding the admissions process, including financial aid options.

Following the Open House events, prospective students will need to participate in the Entrance Exam, which is mandatory for incoming freshmen. This exam is crucial not only for acceptance but also for placement into one of JCA’s three curriculum levels. To help students prepare, JCA will host a Pre-Entrance Exam Workshop and Parent Information Meeting at 6:00 p.m. on December 3, 2024. This session will provide students with a brief overview of the High School Placement Test (HSPT) and allow them to practice sample questions. Parents will also receive guidance on the application process and course placement information.

The Entrance Exam for incoming freshmen is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. on December 6, 2024. Voss encourages eighth-grade families to register for the events, noting that doing so will allow them to be among the first to receive their admission decisions and any merit scholarship information.
