KPU Students Launch Innovative Beer Varieties at Langley Pub
Students from Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) have made their mark in the craft brewing scene by debuting a series of unique beer varieties at CAMP Beer Co. in Langley, British Columbia. This collaboration showcases the innovative spirit and creativity of KPU’s brewing program, allowing students to bring their original recipes to life.
Each month, two new beers crafted by KPU students will be introduced at the pub, starting from October 2023. The initiative not only provides students with practical experience in brewing but also allows them to engage directly with the local community. This hands-on approach is integral to KPU’s commitment to experiential learning in its brewing curriculum.
The first offerings include a crisp lager and a hoppy IPA, both designed to reflect the students’ unique brewing styles and preferences. These brews are part of a broader trend in the craft beer industry, where local collaborations are fostering connections between educational institutions and businesses.
Matthew Lee, a student involved in the project, expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity. “Being able to see our creations served to the public is incredibly rewarding,” he stated. “It’s a chance for us to showcase our skills and learn from real-world feedback.”
The partnership with CAMP Beer Co. exemplifies KPU’s dedication to providing its students with opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. CAMP Beer Co., known for its commitment to quality and community, offers a perfect platform for KPU students to gain exposure in a competitive industry.
As new varieties are rolled out, the collaboration is expected to attract both beer enthusiasts and those curious about the brewing process. This initiative highlights the importance of innovation in the craft beer sector and the role of education in nurturing the next generation of brewers.
The debut of the KPU students’ creations at CAMP Beer Co. is not just a milestone for the students but a celebration of community, creativity, and craft. As the students continue to develop their skills and refine their recipes, the local community eagerly anticipates what unique brews will come next.
