North Island Menopause Conference Set to Empower Women This Fall

The North Island Menopause Conference returns to Campbell River, British Columbia, on November 8, 2024, offering women a day dedicated to essential information and support during their menopause journey. This second annual event, hosted at the Campbell River Community Centre, builds on the success of last year’s inaugural conference, bringing together leading experts in women’s midlife health.
Kathy Grayson, founder and executive director of the conference, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming event. “It’s such an inspiring and engaging event, we’re absolutely thrilled to bring it back,” she stated. “Women deserve access to accurate information and the chance to find community with others experiencing the same transitions. This event is all about making sure women find the support and connection they need to navigate this complex stage of life.”
Expert Insights and Engaging Workshops
The conference will feature Shirley Weir as the keynote speaker. Weir, an author, podcast host, and founder of Menopause Chicks, has spent over a decade advocating for women by providing clear, evidence-based information on menopause. Her presence is expected to enhance the conference’s focus on breaking stigma and fostering open discussions around menopause.
Additional speakers include Tanya Kessling, a registered physiotherapist and owner of Mend Bodyworks in Campbell River; Elisabeth Crisci, an award-winning medical doctor and director of Pacifica MD in Qualicum Beach; and Erin Roman, a registered dietitian specializing in the connection between nutrition and mental health.
The conference will encompass both large-format talks and interactive workshops, covering diverse topics such as sleep issues, hormone therapy, exercise and neuroscience, incontinence and pelvic floor support, burnout, nutrition, mental health, and hypnotherapy. Attendees can create a personalized learning experience by selecting sessions that align with their interests and needs.
Networking and Resources
In addition to the educational sessions, the conference will feature booths showcasing various services and products relevant to menopause. Speakers will be available throughout the day for informal discussions and to answer questions, fostering an environment of learning and connection.
Tickets for the event are priced at $75. Participants can choose between attending in-person or accessing an online stream of select presentations, which will be available live and for a limited time after the event. The full conference schedule, speaker lineup, and ticket purchasing options can be found at nimenopause.com.
Organizers are actively seeking additional sponsors and vendors to enhance the conference experience. For inquiries, interested parties can reach out via email at [email protected].
This event represents a significant opportunity for women to gather, learn, and support one another during a pivotal stage in their lives, reinforcing the importance of community and accurate information in navigating menopause.
