Streator Public Library Unveils Exciting Week of Free Programs
The Streator Public Library is set to host an engaging week of free programs from December 8 to December 13, 2023. Residents can look forward to a diverse range of activities, including a themed scavenger hunt and a Lego Club for children, with parental supervision required during Lego activities. This initiative aims to promote community engagement and provide educational opportunities for all ages.
Daily Activities and Highlights
On Monday, December 8, the library will kick off its programming with “Make It: TikTok for Teens” from 17:00 to 18:00. This session will focus on safe video creation techniques, catering to the interests of the younger audience. Following that, the Library Book Club for adults will meet on Tuesday, December 9 from 10:00 to 11:00, offering an opportunity for local readers to discuss their latest reads.
Children aged 10 and above can participate in an Afternoon Watercolor session on December 9 from 16:30 to 17:30. Meanwhile, a “Holidays Around the World” storytime for young children will take place from 18:00 to 18:30.
Wednesday, December 10, will feature “Game Time” for teens from 15:00 to 16:00, followed by a Murder Mystery Meetup from 18:00 to 19:00 that invites both teens and adults to unravel a thrilling mystery together.
On Thursday, December 11, the library will host the Mother Goose Club for toddlers from 11:00 to 11:30, while a “Snap Circuits” activity for children aged 8 and older runs from 16:30 to 17:30. An evening Acrylic Painting session for children will wrap up the day from 18:00 to 19:00.
Friday, December 12, will see “Paw Patrol Playtime” for children from 15:30 to 16:30, featuring stories, coloring activities, and videos based on the popular series.
The week will conclude on Saturday, December 13, with an iPhone Tech Tutorial for adults from 11:00 to 12:00, followed by a “Dice Bag Sewing” workshop for teens and adults from 13:00 to 14:00.
