The newborn, weighing in at seven pounds and eight ounces, arrived at 12:01:52 a.m. at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital. His parents, Stephanie Henry and Brydon Hargreaves, are residents of Brampton.

Dr. Olamide Sobowale, chief of obstetrics and gynecology at Mackenzie Health, expressed the significance of this moment. “Every new year begins with hope and welcoming the first baby of 2026 is a beautiful reminder of that,” he stated in a news release.

Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital is part of the Mackenzie Health network, which includes Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital. Throughout 2025, the labor and delivery team at Mackenzie Health successfully welcomed over 4,100 babies.
