The 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards are set to unfold on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 20:00 (local time) from the iconic Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California. Hosting the ceremony for the first time is comedian Nate Bargatze, who will guide audiences through an evening celebrating the best in television.

Leading the pack this year is the Apple TV+ series Severance, which has garnered an impressive total of 27 nominations. Following closely is HBO’s highly anticipated spinoff, The Penguin, with 24 nominations. Not far behind, The White Lotus and another Apple TV+ entry, The Studio, both received 23 nominations.

Noteworthy Nominations and Canadian Talent

Among the distinguished nominees is Canadian actor Seth Rogen, recognized for his performance in The Studio. Rogen stands out with nominations in three categories, including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. He is joined by fellow Canadian Catherine O’Hara, who received two nominations, including one for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in the same series. Another Canadian talent, Martin Short, is also nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in Only Murders in the Building.

The writing and directing categories highlight contributions from comedian Nathan Fielder, nominated for his work on HBO’s The Rehearsal, along with Jessica Lee Gagne, who served as director and cinematographer for Severance.
