British Columbia Crime Stoppers Earns Global Recognition
British Columbia Crime Stoppers has achieved significant recognition on the global stage, receiving multiple awards at the 2025 Crime Stoppers International Global Annual Awards. Among the honoured programs are those from the Campbell River and Central Vancouver Island regions, both of which have been acknowledged for their outstanding community engagement efforts in enhancing public safety.
The Campbell River program was awarded for revitalizing its initiatives and modernizing its messaging, which resulted in a remarkable 28 percent increase in tips from the community. This revitalization reflects a broader commitment to mobilizing local residents and raising awareness about crime prevention. The Central Vancouver Island program, meanwhile, was recognized for expanding its jurisdiction, allowing it to serve a larger and more diverse population in need of assistance.
According to a statement from British Columbia Crime Stoppers, “2025 has been a pinnacle year in terms of public engagement in British Columbia and is especially proud to highlight the success of its partners and community programs which have received international recognition across major categories.” This acknowledgment underscores the importance of collaboration between community members and law enforcement in addressing crime.
In addition to the regional awards, the E Division RCMP Crime Stoppers Unit received the Law Enforcement Partnership Award. This accolade recognizes the unit’s exceptional collaboration, which has strengthened the operational integrity and alignment between Crime Stoppers and law enforcement agencies in British Columbia.
Further highlighting the innovative efforts within the province, TLL Marketing of Kelowna was awarded the Best Agency-Developed Initiative. This recognition is due to their impactful digital marketing campaign aimed at combating organized crime, specifically targeting contraband tobacco.
The Crime Stoppers International awards celebrate programs that exemplify commitment to public safety missions at various levels, from local to international. Such recognitions not only honor the achievements of these programs but also encourage ongoing efforts to engage communities in crime prevention initiatives.
As British Columbia Crime Stoppers continues to innovate and expand its reach, the international accolades serve as a testament to the effectiveness of its community-based strategies in improving safety and fostering collaboration.
