Hope Rallies for HGTV’s Home Town Takeover Canada Casting
Residents of the community of Hope, British Columbia, are coming together to showcase their town as part of the casting process for HGTV’s upcoming series, *Home Town Takeover Canada*. On November 23, 2024, starting at 15:00, the community is invited to Memorial Park to participate in a video shoot aimed at highlighting why “Hope is the greatest town in Canada.”
AdvantageHOPE, the local organization spearheading this effort, encourages residents to don festive attire and bring banners featuring phrases like “Home Town Takeover, come to Hope!” or simply the letters “HGTV.” Marketing manager Amanda Figlarska emphasized the importance of community spirit, stating, “What they want to see in the show is the community spirit. It would be great if people could come and support this. And this would be for the whole community if we’re chosen.”
Should Hope be selected, the *Home Town Takeover* team, led by husband and wife duo Ben and Erin Napier, will film in the town for four months, undertaking significant revitalization projects. These projects will include renovations of homes, businesses, and public spaces, all while celebrating the unique stories of the community’s residents.
This marks the first time *Home Town Takeover* will film in Canada, with the production slated for 2026. During this period, the Napier team will collaborate with Canadian designers and builders, promising to make a meaningful impact on Hope.
Figlarska has dedicated over 100 hours to Hope’s application for the show, which has successfully advanced the town to this next round of casting. In a statement shared on social media, AdvantageHOPE expressed pride in the community’s efforts: “Even if this is as far as we go, we couldn’t be prouder to represent Hope. There truly is no other place in Canada with a heart as big as ours.”
The community of Hope has demonstrated resilience and support for one another through challenging times, including natural disasters. “Here people help people, share positivity, and show what community really means,” the organization noted. Despite the humorous jabs about “no hope in Hope,” the residents firmly believe in the strength and unity of their town.
Participants are encouraged to dress warmly for the event and consider decorating their umbrellas in case of rain. Balloons will also be available at the Hope, Cascades & Canyons Visitor Centre for attendees to collect, adding a festive touch to the gathering.
As the community prepares for this important event, the enthusiasm is palpable. The coming days will determine whether Hope will be featured in a show that aims to bring positive change and attention to small towns across Canada.
