Langley Foundation Launches Initiative to Strengthen Community Bonds

The Langley Foundation is calling on residents to express their love for Langley through a new initiative aimed at fostering community engagement. Established just three years ago, the foundation has gained momentum in its efforts to enhance both the city and township of Langley, British Columbia. Under the leadership of Inga Warnock, Director of Planned Giving, the registered charity connects individuals and organizations to support vital local causes.
Warnock emphasizes the foundation’s commitment to making Langley a better place. “When you support your community foundation, all the money received stays right here in the community,” she states. The foundation believes that collaboration strengthens the community, and its projects reflect this ethos. Initiatives have ranged from tree planting to partnerships with groups like Rotary and local businesses.
One notable achievement involved a partnership with Applewood Kia Langley, which resulted in providing a much-needed van for Meals on Wheels. This collaboration illustrates the foundation’s strategy of working alongside local businesses to address community needs.
New Initiative Aims to Unite Residents
The foundation’s latest campaign, titled I Love Langley, seeks to unite residents in their shared appreciation for their community. This initiative invites families who want their children to thrive in a connected environment, as well as neighbors eager to give back and community leaders focused on lasting impact, to participate.
“We’re so fortunate to live in this amazing place, and working together, we can make it even better,” Warnock says. The foundation has identified three strategic focus areas to guide its efforts, ensuring that contributions are directed toward meaningful projects.
Currently, fundraising is primarily project-based, with all donations being tax-deductible. The foundation has made giving easy and secure through its online donation platform, allowing for one-time donations of any size and recurring monthly contributions. Donors even have the option to specify where they would like their funds to go, enhancing the personalization of their contributions.
Empowering Community Through Philanthropy
Warnock elaborates on the foundation’s mission: “In establishing the foundation in Langley, we wanted to ensure that if people wanted to donate to their community and to causes that matter to them, they had an opportunity to do so.” This approach not only empowers individuals to contribute but also fosters a culture of philanthropy throughout the community.
As the Langley Foundation continues to grow, its impact on the community becomes increasingly evident. The dedication to enhancing local life through collaboration and support allows residents to take an active role in shaping a vibrant future for Langley.
