Mikado Electric Extends $100,000 Support for Local Food Bank

Mikado Electric has renewed its commitment to the Interfaith Food Bank with a pledge of $100,000 over the next five years. This announcement coincides with the company’s 20th anniversary, marking two decades of service and support within the community. The funding will assist the food bank in purchasing essential food supplies for those in need.
In 2020, Mikado Electric became the founding partner of the Food Bank Guardians sponsorship program, contributing $100,000 during the initial five-year term. Owner Mike Mikado expressed his desire to continue supporting the food bank, acknowledging the significant role the community has played in the company’s success. “The community’s given us so much that whatever we can give back, we’re going to,” Mikado stated.
Acknowledging Community Needs
The commitment from Mikado Electric brings a sense of hope to the Interfaith Food Bank as it strives to meet the growing demands of the community. Executive Director Danielle McIntyre highlighted the importance of such substantial contributions. “It’s one of those things where we have to constantly be out there in the community, asking for help. But when you get a substantial contribution or a commitment like this, it does make you feel like there is a possibility of meeting the annual budget each year,” she remarked.
The Food Bank Guardians program recognizes long-term supporters who contribute significantly to the food bank’s future sustainability. Such partnerships play a crucial role in ensuring that the organization can provide for individuals and families facing food insecurity.
McIntyre noted that community support is vital for the food bank’s operations, allowing it to expand its services and reach more people in need. With Mikado Electric’s renewed commitment, the food bank can continue its mission with greater confidence and stability.
As Mikado Electric celebrates this milestone, its ongoing support for the Interfaith Food Bank serves as a reminder of the impact local businesses can have on their communities. The company’s dedication not only aids in addressing immediate food needs but also fosters a spirit of collaboration and support among local organizations.
