Mikado Electric Reaffirms $100,000 Support to Interfaith Food Bank

Mikado Electric has renewed its commitment to the Interfaith Food Bank with a significant contribution of $100,000 over the next five years. This pledge, announced during the company’s 20th anniversary celebration, aims to support the food bank in its efforts to provide essential food supplies to the community.
The company first partnered with the Interfaith Food Bank in 2020, becoming a founding partner of the Food Bank Guardians sponsorship program. At that time, Mikado Electric committed $100,000 to be delivered over five years. As the anniversary year progresses, owner Mike Mikado decided to extend this commitment, emphasizing the importance of giving back to a community that has supported the business.
“It’s one of those things where we have to constantly be out there in the community, asking for help,” said Danielle McIntyre, executive director of the Interfaith Food Bank. She highlighted that substantial contributions like Mikado Electric’s offer a sense of security in meeting the organization’s annual budget.
Community Impact of Long-Term Support
Mikado’s renewed commitment not only symbolizes its dedication to the local community but also sets an example for other businesses. Long-term commitments are vital for food banks, as they help establish a stable foundation for future operations. Those who make significant investments, like Mikado Electric, are honored as “guardians,” recognizing their enduring impact on the community.
The Interfaith Food Bank plays a crucial role in addressing food insecurity in the area. By securing consistent funding through partnerships, the organization can better plan for the future and ensure that it meets the needs of those it serves. McIntyre noted that when businesses make long-term promises, it cultivates a climate of hope and possibility for the food bank’s sustainability.
A Call to Action for Local Businesses
Mikado Electric’s continued support serves as a reminder of the importance of corporate responsibility in today’s society. Local businesses are encouraged to consider how they can contribute to the well-being of their communities. As Mikado stated, “The community’s given us so much that whatever we can give back, we’re going to.” This sentiment resonates widely, highlighting the reciprocal relationship between businesses and the communities they serve.
As the food bank continues to face challenges, the support from Mikado Electric stands out as a beacon of encouragement. It reinforces the notion that collective efforts can lead to substantial change, ensuring that essential services remain available to those in need. The enduring partnership between Mikado Electric and the Interfaith Food Bank exemplifies how businesses can effectively contribute to tackling social issues while also celebrating their successes.
