Morris Hospital YMCA Celebrates First Anniversary with Community Open House
The Morris Hospital YMCA is marking its first anniversary with a community open house on January 10, 2025. The event will take place from 10:00 to 12:00 at 2200 W. Dupont Ave., welcoming residents to explore the facility and participate in various activities.
Attendees can look forward to guided tours of the 60,000-square-foot building, which opened its doors in December 2024. The open house will provide opportunities to learn about memberships, classes, and programs available at the YMCA. Families are encouraged to bring their children, who will have access to games and a bounce house set up in the gym.
In addition to the recreational activities for children, the YMCA will host cookie decorating and birthday hat design stations. Guests can partake in demonstrations, discover membership specials, and enter to win prizes throughout the event.
The Morris Hospital YMCA is designed to cater to a diverse range of fitness needs. It features an eight-lane lap pool, a comprehensive health and wellness center, and a gymnasium equipped for various sports. An indoor walking track encircles the basketball courts, providing a convenient exercise option regardless of weather conditions. Group exercise studios and a cycling room further enhance the facility’s offerings, while a healthy eating kitchen promotes nutritional education. Youth play spaces and meeting rooms round out the amenities available to the community.
The open house represents a significant milestone for the YMCA as it aims to strengthen its connection with the local community. By inviting residents to experience the programs and facilities firsthand, the organization encourages a culture of health and wellness that extends beyond its walls.
Residents of Morris and surrounding areas are encouraged to take part in this celebratory event, fostering community engagement and awareness of the resources available at the Morris Hospital YMCA.
