Oswego Police Cadet Corps Hosts 8th Annual Car and Truck Show
The Oswego Police Public Safety Cadet Corps Unit #1833 is set to host its 8th annual car and truck show on September 5, 2024. The event will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Main Street in downtown Oswego, Illinois. This community tradition aims to raise funds to support activities and equipment for the Cadet Corps, which mentors young adults aspiring to become future law enforcement professionals.
In an effort to enhance community engagement, this year marks the second time the event will take place in the downtown area. The car and truck show welcomes all makes, models, and years of vehicles. Pre-registration for participants is available online for $15 at www.oswegoil.org/carshow. Those wishing to register on the day of the event can do so starting at 4 p.m. at the venue. Admission for spectators is free, making it accessible to all members of the community.
The show will feature various highlights, including the popular Touch-a-Truck area, where attendees can explore police vehicles such as the BearCat. Additionally, awards will be presented in multiple categories, and food trucks will be on-site to provide refreshments. Guests can also participate in a 50/50 raffle, with door prizes available throughout the event.
For more information, individuals can visit the Oswego Police Department’s website at www.oswegoil.org/government/police or check their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/OswegoPolice. Interested parties may also contact Officer Sammi Rodriguez at 630-551-7300 for further inquiries.
This car and truck show not only serves as a fundraiser but also reinforces the Oswego Police Cadet Corps’ commitment to nurturing the next generation of law enforcement professionals. The event promises to be an enjoyable experience for vehicle enthusiasts and families alike.
