Regina Residents Celebrate Fall at Cedar Creek Gardens Maze
As autumn unfolds in Saskatchewan, residents of Regina are actively participating in seasonal festivities, including a recent visit to the corn maze at Cedar Creek Gardens. Clients of Chip and Dale Homes, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, joined the celebration as part of their day program on October 13, 2023.
Located just over three kilometres from Regina, Cedar Creek Gardens offers a range of activities that highlight the charm of the fall season. Participants enjoyed navigating the intricate pathways of the corn maze, a beloved autumn attraction. The visit aimed to foster independence and community involvement among the clients of Chip and Dale Homes, which operates family-like residences and provides various support services.
The event was documented by Kayle Neis, a photojournalist from the Regina Leader-Post, who captured the joyful moments experienced by the participants. This initiative reflects the organization’s commitment to enhancing the lives of those it serves by encouraging engagement in community activities.
The Leader-Post also highlights the importance of staying informed, offering a newsletter titled Afternoon Headlines, which delivers daily updates on significant news directly to subscribers’ inboxes. As access to reliable journalism faces challenges, the Leader-Post emphasizes the need for readers to bookmark their website for real-time news updates.
The corn maze visit not only provided entertainment but also reinforced the mission of Chip and Dale Homes to create enriching experiences for individuals with intellectual disabilities. By participating in local events, clients can develop social skills and foster connections within their community, ultimately promoting a sense of belonging and independence.
As the season continues, more fall activities are expected to draw residents together, celebrating the vibrant community spirit in Regina.
