Richmond Non-Profit Seeks Volunteers for Annual Blanket Drive
A local non-profit organization in Richmond is calling for volunteers to assist in its annual blanket drive aimed at providing warmth to those in need. On November 28 and November 29, community members are invited to come together to collect blankets that will be distributed to vulnerable populations in Richmond and surrounding areas, including Vancouver.
The drive is an essential part of the organization’s efforts to support individuals facing homelessness and other hardships during the colder months. Last year, the initiative successfully gathered over 2,000 blankets, providing crucial warmth to countless individuals. This year’s goal is to surpass that number, and organizers are encouraging as many people as possible to participate.
Volunteer Opportunities and Participation Details
Volunteers will be stationed at various collection points throughout Richmond. Those interested in helping can sign up for shifts on both days, with options available from 10:00 to 18:00. Each volunteer will play a vital role in sorting and distributing the blankets to ensure that they reach those who need them most.
The event is not only an opportunity to give back to the community but also a chance to foster connections among residents. Organizers emphasize that community involvement is key to the success of the blanket drive, and they welcome individuals, families, and groups to lend their support.
How to Get Involved
To volunteer, interested individuals can visit the non-profit’s official website, where they can find additional details and register for their preferred time slots. For those unable to volunteer, donations of new or gently used blankets are also welcome and can be dropped off at the collection points during the event.
This initiative highlights the importance of community solidarity during challenging times. As winter approaches, the need for warm blankets becomes increasingly critical. The non-profit encourages all residents of Richmond and Vancouver to contribute to this meaningful cause and help bring comfort to those who need it most.
For further information, please contact the non-profit directly through their website or social media channels. Together, community members can make a significant impact and ensure that no one has to face the cold without proper warmth.
