Silver Cross Foundation Welcomes Eileen Greenawalt and Scott Pickands

Silver Cross Hospital has appointed Eileen Greenawalt and Scott Pickands to its Board of Directors, enhancing the leadership of the Silver Cross Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to fundraising for the hospital. Tracy Simons, Executive Director of the Silver Cross Foundation, expressed enthusiasm about the new appointments, stating, “We are delighted that Eileen and Scott have joined the Silver Cross Foundation Board. With their guidance, we will continue to provide needed resources to advance healthcare in the community.”
Eileen Greenawalt brings a wealth of experience to the board. She previously worked as a management consultant with AchieveGlobal and co-founded “OMG It’s Gluten Free” in 2008, transforming her home-based venture into an international distributor of gluten-free products. Greenawalt has been actively involved with the Suburban Service League, an organization supporting various causes, including homelessness and domestic violence. During her five years as an executive member, she awarded scholarships and participated in community service. Greenawalt holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, and is pursuing an MBA from Lewis University. She resides in Frankfort, Illinois, with her husband and four children.
Joining her on the board is Scott Pickands, Executive Vice President of Reed Construction, a corporate philanthropy partner of Silver Cross. Pickands played a key role in the recent six-story expansion of Silver Cross Hospital, which features advanced cardiovascular operating rooms and a neonatal intensive care unit. His contributions to the hospital’s growth over the last 18 years include overseeing the construction of several important facilities. Recognized as one of Crain’s Chicago Business 2025 Notable Leaders in Healthcare, he is the only general contractor to receive this honor. Pickands graduated from Lewis University with both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in business. He is active in community sports and has served on various boards, including the Marist High School Hockey Team and the Ingalls Development Foundation. Living in Mokena, Illinois, he shares his life with his wife and their five children and seven grandchildren.
Greenawalt and Pickands join a diverse board of directors for the Silver Cross Foundation, which includes members such as Claudia Aguirre, Tim Borchert, and Michael Mutterer, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Silver Cross Hospital. Together, they are committed to enhancing healthcare resources in the community.
