Global Leaders Gather in Toronto to Address Economic Challenges

Global leaders, decision makers, and industry experts are set to gather in Toronto from October 15 to 17, 2025, for the annual Toronto Global Forum. This prestigious event will focus on the theme “Leading in Times of Transformation,” addressing the pressing challenges and opportunities present in today’s economic and geopolitical landscape.
The 19th edition of the Toronto Global Forum will take place at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel and is organized by the International Economic Forum of the Americas (IEFA). The forum aims to build a framework to help leaders navigate an increasingly complex environment, fostering dialogue on both national and global issues amid shifting economic dynamics.
Each day of the conference will focus on distinct themes. The agenda includes:
– **Wednesday, October 15**: Finance, Trade, Supply Chain, Food Security
– **Thursday, October 16**: Energy, Infrastructure, and Critical Resources
– **Friday, October 17**: Geopolitics, Innovation, Technology
The forum will feature in-depth discussions on a range of crucial topics, including finance, energy security, the future of trade, critical minerals, infrastructure, defense, and technology. Notably, sessions on technology and artificial intelligence will be livestreamed, ensuring accessibility for a global audience.
While the forum is not primarily political, it attracts a high-profile audience, including heads of state, central bank governors, and other economic decision-makers. This year’s discussions are expected to reflect diverse perspectives on the global economic landscape, which some commentators argue promotes a globalist agenda that may overlook local community needs.
Among the distinguished speakers scheduled to participate are Boitumelo Mosako, CEO of the Development Bank of South Africa; Börje Ekholm, President and CEO of Ericsson; and Bowei Lee, Group Chairman of LCY Chemical.
Nicholas Rémillard, CEO of the IEFA, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming event, stating, “It is a privilege to welcome this delegation of thought leaders and industry experts to this year’s Toronto Global Forum. This year’s theme reflects the increasingly challenging landscape our global leaders find themselves navigating and the opportunities to foster a future where our economies can thrive.”
The Toronto Global Forum serves as an essential platform for collaboration, encouraging innovation and strategic thinking among leaders who are tasked with addressing complex global challenges. The event underscores the importance of unity and dialogue in the face of uncertainty, aiming to inspire actionable solutions for a better future.
