Air Canada Increases Bus Service from Waterloo to Toronto Pearson

Air Canada has announced a significant expansion of its bus service connecting the Region of Waterloo to Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ). Beginning on December 1, 2023, the airline will double the frequency of its luxury coach trips provided by The Landline Company, increasing the number of daily departures from five to ten.

This enhanced service aims to provide greater convenience for travelers in the Waterloo Region, allowing for improved access to the wide range of destinations served by Air Canada from Toronto Pearson. According to Ranbir Singh, Director of Regional Airlines and Markets at Air Canada, the response from the local community has been overwhelmingly positive. “We have been very satisfied with the response from the Kitchener-Waterloo Region to Air Canada’s innovative, multi-modal service,” Singh stated. He added that the increase to ten daily trips will offer customers better one-stop connectivity to major cities, including Vancouver, Tokyo, Halifax, and San Francisco.

The bus service will maintain early morning departures from the Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF), starting as early as 5:30 a.m.. The last bus will depart at 8:25 p.m., providing ample options for travelers. Return trips from YYZ to YKF will be available from 7:00 a.m. to 10:15 p.m., catering to various flight schedules.

Karen Redman, Chair of the Region of Waterloo, expressed enthusiasm regarding the expansion. She emphasized that the increased bus service enhances the area’s global connectivity, stating, “Doubling the frequency strengthens Waterloo Region’s global reach and opens new doors for our residents, businesses, and visitors alike.” Redman also reaffirmed the region’s commitment to providing more accessible travel options for its residents.
