Artly Unveils Innovative Robots for Coffee and Cocktails at CES 2026
Artly has introduced two groundbreaking robotic systems designed for the food and beverage industry at CES 2026. The mini BaristaBot and the Bartender aim to elevate the automation experience by combining precision with the artistry typically associated with skilled human baristas and bartenders. These advancements signal a shift in how technology can replicate not just the tasks, but the subtle nuances involved in crafting quality beverages.
Redefining Automation in Beverage Preparation
The mini BaristaBot operates within a compact 4 × 4 ft footprint, making it ideal for high-traffic environments such as airports and office spaces. This fully autonomous café can handle the entire barista workflow, from grinding and tamping to brewing, steaming, and pouring. Meng Wang, CEO of Artly, emphasizes the complexity involved in coffee preparation: “At first, I thought making coffee was easy, but after talking to professional baristas, we realized it is not simple at all. There are a lot of details and nuances that go into making a good cup of coffee.”
Artly’s approach to training these robots resembles that of a trade school, where they learn from human experts through motion capture and multi-camera video. The mini BaristaBot utilizes Artly’s Skill Engine to break down intricate movements into reusable components, allowing it to replicate techniques like milk texturing and latte art. This methodology ensures that the robot does not simply automate tasks for efficiency, but rather aims to recreate an authentic experience.
The engineering behind the mini BaristaBot employs food-grade stainless steel and modular commercial components, all wrapped in a design that resembles a warm, inviting kiosk rather than industrial equipment. A built-in digital interface facilitates ordering, while Artly’s AI integrates real-time motion planning, computer vision, and anomaly detection to maintain consistent quality, even in busy public spaces.
Expanding Horizons with the Bartender
The Bartender robot extends Artly’s philosophy into the world of cocktails. It shares the same AI arm technology as the mini BaristaBot but focuses on the precise measurements and techniques required for drink mixing. This robot is designed to learn from human bartenders, capturing their shaking and stirring methods, as well as the visual aesthetics essential for cocktail presentation.
Wang points out the Bartender’s unique capability: “If the robot learns the technique of a champion, it can repeat that same pattern at different locations.” This consistency is particularly valuable for hospitality venues, allowing them to standardize recipes and maintain quality during peak hours. By freeing human staff from repetitive tasks, the Bartender enables them to engage more in conversation and creativity.
Both the mini BaristaBot and the Bartender leverage Artly’s advanced hardware and software, allowing for seamless integration and remote management across multiple locations. The modular design and customizable finishes like maple, white oak, and walnut enable operators to match the aesthetics of various venues, enhancing the customer experience.
Artly’s innovations at CES 2026 demonstrate how automation can respect the craftsmanship traditionally found in food and beverage preparation. These robots not only replicate skills learned from champions but also deliver a captivating experience for customers, showcasing a future where technology enhances rather than diminishes the art of drink-making.
