Cannabix Technologies Expands Maritime Safety with New Alcohol Testing Order
Cannabix Technologies Inc., based in Vancouver, has secured a repeat sales agreement for its BreathLogix unmanned alcohol screening technology with a European maritime shipping customer. This deal marks a significant step in enhancing operational safety for crew members through pre-access breath alcohol testing. The agreement, announced on December 2, 2025, involves the delivery of an additional BreathLogix unit to further strengthen safety protocols.
The BreathLogix system integrates with the cloud-based BreathLogix Connect platform, powered by Amazon Web Services. This advanced integration allows for real-time alerts, centralized data management, and seamless reporting. Notably, the device incorporates facial recognition technology, enabling quick and secure identification of crew members.
Cannabix’s BreathLogix solutions are designed for a variety of industries, including maritime, mining, oil and gas, industrial, trucking, and warehousing, where safety is paramount. The unmanned alcohol screening devices provide rapid and accurate breath alcohol checks while simultaneously capturing a photo of the user to confirm identity. The system displays precise Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) readings on-screen and sends immediate test reports via SMS and email. This functionality alerts managers to positive results, allowing them to take swift action to prevent accidents and injuries.
Test results are securely managed through the dedicated BreathLogix Connect web portal, which can also integrate with various access control systems. These include doors, turnstiles, gates, facial recognition systems, and motor vehicle key fleet management systems. The BreathLogix device supports multiple testing scenarios, such as start-of-shift, mandated, pre-employment, return-to-work, random, and post-incident testing.
The BreathLogix (Workplace Series) is listed on the U.S. Federal Register Conforming Products List (CPL) for breath alcohol screening devices, administered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This recognition underscores the device’s compliance and reliability in maintaining safety standards.
A notable feature of BreathLogix is its patent-pending pre-calibrated sensor cartridge technology. This innovation allows administrators to maintain devices easily, eliminating the need for expensive calibration equipment and minimizing the need for time-consuming site visits from technicians for maintenance.
In a statement regarding the new agreement, Rav Mlait, CEO of Cannabix Technologies Inc., emphasized the importance of enhancing safety in the maritime industry. “We are committed to providing innovative solutions that ensure the safety and well-being of crew members across various sectors,” he stated.
As Cannabix Technologies continues to expand its presence in the maritime market, the company remains focused on developing and delivering reliable alcohol screening technologies. The growing demand for safety measures in various industries positions Cannabix favorably for future opportunities.
While the company expresses optimism regarding its future, it also acknowledges the inherent risks and uncertainties in the market. These include challenges related to government regulations, competition, and the successful commercialization of its products. The company’s forward-looking statements highlight its commitment to innovation and its intention to enhance safety measures across multiple industries.
