CBC Unveils Free Streaming Channel for Schitt’s Creek Fans

Fans of the beloved Canadian sitcom, Schitt’s Creek, can now enjoy their favorite episodes more conveniently than ever. CBC has launched a dedicated free ad-supported television (FAST) channel exclusively for the series. The new “Schitt’s Creek Channel” features all six seasons of the show, along with the one-hour finale special titled Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: A Schitt’s Creek Farewell.
The channel is now available on CBC’s Gem streaming service, which offers free access with ads or an ad-free experience for $5.99 per month. In addition to its current offerings, the Schitt’s Creek Channel is set to launch on LG Channels and The Roku Channel later this year, expanding access for viewers.
This launch marks CBC‘s fourth FAST channel, following the successful introductions of channels dedicated to CBC Comedy, Heartland, and Murdoch Mysteries. The decision to create a dedicated channel for Schitt’s Creek reflects the show’s enduring popularity and the growing trend of FAST channels in the streaming landscape.
While CBC has maintained a long-standing partnership with Netflix Canada, only three seasons of Schitt’s Creek are currently available on that platform. As streaming services raise their subscription prices, many viewers are shifting towards ad-supported options. Data indicates that FAST channels are becoming increasingly popular as they provide a cost-effective alternative for audiences.
The launch of the Schitt’s Creek Channel promises to delight both new viewers and long-time fans alike, offering them an opportunity to relive the comedic escapades of the Rose family at no cost. This strategic move by CBC not only enhances its streaming offerings but also aligns with the current trends in viewer preferences, as audiences seek more affordable ways to enjoy their favorite shows.
With the continued rise of FAST channels, CBC is positioning itself to cater to the evolving demands of viewers who are looking for both quality content and budget-friendly options. As the landscape of television continues to adapt, the Schitt’s Creek Channel stands out as a notable addition for fans around the world.
