Ford Launches 900-HP Raptor R and Maverick 300T at SEMA Show
Ford has unveiled two powerful concept trucks at the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, showcasing innovative upgrades aimed at performance enthusiasts. The highlight of the display is the F-150 Raptor R, now featuring a Whipple supercharger that boosts its output to over 900 horsepower. Additionally, Ford introduced the Maverick 300T, equipped with a turbocharger derived from the Mustang, enhancing its capabilities significantly.
The SEMA Show, organized by the Specialty Equipment Market Association, serves as a platform for automotive companies to exhibit aftermarket accessories and vehicle modifications. Ford’s participation underscores its commitment to performance and consumer customization.
Performance Enhancements for Raptor R and Maverick 300T
The F-150 Raptor R modification involves integrating a 3.0-litre Whipple supercharger with its stock 5.2-litre V8, elevating horsepower from 720 to an impressive 900+. Ford has indicated that this enhancement could soon be available to consumers through Ford Performance Parts, with plans to offer it legally in Canada and all 50 states. Vehicles fitted with this upgrade will also come with a warranty covering three years or 60,000 km in Canada, provided the installation is done by a Ford dealer or an ASE-certified technician.
In addition to the engine upgrade, the Raptor R project truck features a Borla cat-back exhaust, a gloss carbon-fibre appearance package, Rigid off-road lighting, and Method black wheels. Matt Simpson, executive director of Ford’s accessories and personalization, stated, “We wanted to create a blueprint for the ultimate factory-backed Raptor. This is for the enthusiast who looks at the F-150 Raptor R and says, ‘How can we take it further?’”
On the other end of the performance spectrum, the Maverick 300T retains its stock 2.0-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, which typically generates 250 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. The upgrade involves pairing it with a larger turbocharger from the 2.3-litre Mustang EcoBoost, significantly increasing its output to an estimated 300 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque.
Availability and Additional Features
Ford aims to have the Maverick 300T available to consumers by 2026, offering similar legal status in Canada and warranty options as the Raptor R. To accommodate the added performance, prospective buyers are advised to consider the optional 4,000-lb towing package, which enhances the truck’s drivetrain and cooling systems.
The 300T package also includes a high-performance intercooler, Borla sport cat-back exhaust, a Lobo lowering kit that reduces the vehicle’s height by 10 mm in front and 30 mm in the rear, and performance-tuned springs. A unique “300T” graphics package, bronze tailgate lettering, and Ford Performance-branded floor mats and badges enhance the vehicle’s appearance. The Maverick 300T rides on striking 20-inch Mach-E GT wheels, with Ford recommending Pirelli P Zero performance tires for optimal handling, despite the show vehicle being equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires for aesthetics.
The introduction of these high-performance vehicles at SEMA not only highlights Ford’s innovation in the automotive market but also caters to a growing consumer demand for powerful, customizable trucks. As Ford continues to expand its performance parts lineup, enthusiasts can look forward to exciting developments in the near future.
