Microsoft Ends Discounts on DLC for Xbox Game Pass Users

Microsoft has announced that it will no longer offer discounts on downloadable content (DLC) for its popular subscription service, Xbox Game Pass. This change comes on the heels of a significant price increase for the service, which rose by as much as $11 in the past week. Going forward, members of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will earn 10 percent in Rewards points on purchases of select games and add-ons within the Game Pass library. Premium members will earn 5 percent on similar purchases. Despite the removal of the DLC discounts, the 20 percent discount on Game Pass title purchases remains intact for Ultimate members.

While Microsoft did mention adjustments to its Rewards points system last week, it did not explicitly communicate that the DLC discount would be discontinued in favor of the new rewards structure. This has left many fans feeling frustrated with what they perceive as a decline in value from the service, particularly in light of the recent price hike.
