Pacific Drive Unveils Major DLC Expansion, Whispers in the Woods

A new chapter is set to unfold in the acclaimed driving survival adventure Pacific Drive with the announcement of its first major downloadable content (DLC) expansion, titled Whispers in the Woods. Developed by Ironwood Studios in collaboration with publishing partner Kepler Interactive, this premium expansion is expected to launch later this year on PC and PlayStation 5.

Exploring New Mysteries and Challenges

The expansion transports players into the haunting landscape of the Olympic Exclusion Zone, introducing an eerie narrative filled with themes of obsession and ritualistic practices. Players will encounter a fanatic group devoted to the Zone’s anomalies after progressing through the initial hours of the base game.

As players navigate a shadowed forest adorned with strange effigies and symbols, they will face hidden dangers and uncover mysterious Artifacts. These unique items are designed to grant unpredictable effects, adding an intriguing layer to the gameplay experience.

In addition to the new storyline, Whispers in the Woods introduces fresh junction types, anomalies, and exploration behaviors. Players will engage with the cult-like group’s altars, harnessing the unsettling powers of their Artifacts while also customizing their station wagon with new parts sourced from this ritual-filled environment.

Building on Success

Pacific Drive has achieved significant success since its initial launch in February 2024, surpassing one million units sold globally across PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. The development team has committed to enhancing the game with regular free updates, including the April 2024 Endless Expeditions update, which introduced limitless runs into the Zone along with new progression features.

The upcoming expansion promises to continue this momentum, providing players with a story experience nearly one-third the size of the original game. This content aims to engage both newcomers and seasoned drivers, enriching the already immersive gameplay.

Whispers in the Woods is slated for release later this year on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. The expansion represents a significant step forward for Ironwood Studios as they expand the universe of Pacific Drive, offering players new adventures and challenges.
