Samsung Confirms One UI 9.0 Development Through Leaked Code

A recent leak from a firmware build of One UI 8.5 has confirmed that Samsung is actively developing its next major software update, One UI 9.0. The discovery, reported by SamMobile, indicates that this upcoming version will be based on the anticipated Android 17 operating system. Although the release of One UI 9.0 is expected to be approximately a year away, the early indications suggest it could introduce substantial new features and design enhancements.
The Galaxy S26 series, set to debut with One UI 8.5, is likely to be among the first devices to receive the One UI 9.0 update. Additionally, the next generation of Samsung’s foldable devices, including the highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip, are expected to launch with this new software. Notably, Samsung is rumored to unveil its first tri-fold foldable smartphone, which is projected to be released worldwide in 2024.
While the specifics of One UI 9.0 remain largely undisclosed, industry analysts speculate that the update will emphasize artificial intelligence integration. Samsung has increasingly focused on enhancing customization, improving animation fluidity, and introducing AI-powered tools in its recent updates. These trends suggest that similar elements will play a central role in One UI 9.0.
The confirmation of One UI 9.0 development provides insight into Samsung’s software strategy in the coming months. As users await further details, Samsung continues to roll out updates for its current software version. The stable launch of One UI 8.0 has commenced for devices including the Galaxy S24 series, the Galaxy Z Flip 6, and the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
In summary, the leaked code has not only validated the existence of One UI 9.0 but has also set high expectations for what is to come in Samsung’s software evolution. Further announcements are anticipated as the company progresses with its developmental roadmap.
