Amanda Williams Sworn In as New Member of Sault Police Board
Amanda Williams has officially joined the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services Board as a new member. The appointment was confirmed during a board meeting on March 13, 2024, where Williams was sworn in as a provincial appointee. She brings a wealth of experience to the role, currently serving as the director of finance and administration at Avery Construction.
Background and Responsibilities
A graduate of Lake Superior State University, Williams has a strong background in finance and administration, which will be crucial as she takes on her responsibilities with the police services board. Her term is set for two years, during which she will contribute to discussions and decisions that impact public safety and community relations in Sault Ste. Marie.
Williams joins fellow board member Joseph Greco, who was appointed in September 2023. Together, they replace former members John Bruno and Ian MacKenzie, who resigned from their positions in July 2023. This transition marks a significant change for the board as it continues to evolve in response to the needs of the community.
Looking Forward
The addition of Williams to the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services Board is anticipated to bring fresh perspectives and insights. Her financial expertise can aid in the effective management of resources, ensuring that the board continues to uphold its commitment to public safety.
As the board prepares for upcoming initiatives, the community will be watching closely to see how this new leadership impacts local policing strategies and community engagement efforts. Williams’s appointment is a step towards fostering a strong relationship between law enforcement and the residents of Sault Ste. Marie.
