Blue Jays Fans Rally in Seattle for American League Series

Fans of the Toronto Blue Jays are gearing up to travel to Seattle as the team competes against the Seattle Mariners in the American League Championship Series. The excitement surrounding this postseason matchup has prompted many supporters from across Canada to make the journey to T-Mobile Park for the games, which promise to be thrilling encounters.
Historically, games between the Blue Jays and Mariners attract a significant number of fans from western Canada. The upcoming series is expected to draw even larger crowds, with the added momentum of a playoff run boosting enthusiasm among supporters. As part of these preparations, an additional sailing on the FRS Clipper ferry has been scheduled, dubbed the “Playoff Express,” specifically to accommodate the influx of fans travelling from Victoria to Seattle.
Among the dedicated fans is Alex Simpson, who is making the trip from Calgary with five family members to attend Game 4 in Seattle. A lifelong Blue Jays supporter, Simpson is particularly motivated by the memory of his late father, Dave Simpson, who passed away this summer. He recalls their shared passion for the game, stating, “At times, being a fan of a sports team can be difficult. You go through losses, and you’re emotionally connected to the team, and you want the team to do well.”
As the Blue Jays have advanced in the postseason, Simpson believes his father would have taken great pride in their achievements. “It’s just incredible to see the team putting together such an effort. I think he’d be really proud,” he added.
The best-of-seven series will commence on October 8, 2023, with the first two games hosted in Toronto before the action shifts to Seattle for the remaining matches. The series format heightens the stakes, as teams vie for a coveted spot in the World Series.
With passionate fans like Alex Simpson leading the charge, the Toronto Blue Jays are not only competing for a championship but also uniting families and friends through their shared love of baseball. The atmosphere at T-Mobile Park is set to be electric, as supporters come together to cheer on their team in the face of fierce competition.
