Fire Breaks Out at Former Quadra Primary School in Victoria

Emergency crews responded to a fire at the former Quadra Primary School in Victoria on the morning of November 4, 2023. The incident occurred around 08:00 when flames were reported inside the building located at 2549 Quadra Street. The Victoria Fire Department quickly dispatched firefighters to the scene to manage the situation.

According to Colleen Mycroft, a communications coordinator for the City of Victoria, the fire department remained on site for several hours. Chief Dan Atkinson confirmed that police assistance was also present during the response. Once the fire was extinguished, the scene was handed over to the Greater Victoria School District.

Witnesses reported seeing fire trucks outside the school shortly before the fire was brought under control. Crews utilized ventilation fans to clear smoke from the building and kept doors propped open to facilitate their efforts.
