Second Victim Found in Fatal Brampton Crash Involving Youth Driver

A tragic accident in Brampton on March 23, 2024, resulted in the deaths of two individuals, with the second victim only discovered hours after the collision. The incident, which involved a youth driver, occurred around 04:20 a.m. at the intersection of Chinguacousy Road and Queen Street W.

According to Peel Police, the first victim, a young male driver, was extricated from the wreckage of a Honda Civic, but initial examinations revealed no immediate evidence of a passenger. Peel Police Constable Amanda Steenson stated that the investigation took a turn later in the day when officers received reports of a missing 20-year-old woman. Her last known location had been confirmed through a shared tracking application as the site of the crash.

In a statement, Constable Steenson explained, “Officers simultaneously checked the crash scene and attended the impound yard to determine whether evidence of a passenger existed.” Their search led them to closely examine the rear passenger compartment of the demolished vehicle, where they discovered the remains of the deceased woman embedded in the wreckage.

The situation necessitated the involvement of Brampton Fire and Emergency Services, who were called to assist in the delicate task of extricating the woman’s body using specialized equipment.

Constable Steenson expressed the department’s condolences, saying, “We recognize the profound impact of this tragedy and ask that the privacy of the families involved be respected as they continue to grieve this loss.” The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, as the community mourns the loss of two young lives in this devastating incident.
