											Two individuals are in critical condition and another person seriously injured following a two-car collision in Surrey, British Columbia, that occurred early on October 29, 2023. The accident took place just before 1 a.m. at the intersection of 128th Street and 65th Avenue.
Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, where one vehicle was found overturned and engulfed in flames. Fire crews managed to extinguish the fire and rescue two occupants trapped inside. Both individuals were subsequently transported to a local hospital, where they remain in life-threatening condition. The driver of the second vehicle, which had been traveling southbound, was also taken to the hospital and is reported to be in serious condition.
Investigation Underway
Authorities from the Surrey Police Service are beginning their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Preliminary reports suggest that the vehicle carrying two people was traveling north on 128th Street at 64th Avenue when it crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with the southbound vehicle. Speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the accident.
The crash scene extends between 64th and 65th Avenues, prompting authorities to close this section of 128th Street for much of the day as investigators gather evidence and reconstruct the events leading to the collision. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.
