The annual Winter Jubilee returns to Historic Downtown Abbotsford on November 22, 2025, from 15:00 to 20:00, promising an array of festive activities to celebrate the holiday season. This year marks the event’s 36th edition, featuring the traditional lighting of a towering 60-foot Christmas tree, which is expected to draw families and visitors to the downtown area.

The Winter Jubilee transforms the heart of Abbotsford into a winter wonderland, offering a free and family-friendly experience. Attendees can explore Santa’s Workshop, become certified elves at the Elf Academy, and browse unique gifts at an artisan market. A selection of food trucks will also be present, providing a variety of festive bites and nostalgic treats.

Ryan Leonhard, Executive Director of the Abbotsford Downtown Business Association, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We love bringing this cherished holiday tradition to Historic Downtown Abbotsford and delighting our guests with our big small-town heart and local flavours.”

Exciting Entertainment and Activities

The evening will culminate in a community gathering around the illuminated tree, marking a highlight of the event. In addition to the tree lighting, attendees can enjoy live stage entertainment hosted by comedian Cliff Prang, featuring performances by the MEI Choir, Jam Dance, Goddess Movement, Silver Diamond Country Dancers, Joel Noftle Group, and Ryan McAllister.

Families can engage in various activities, including cookie decorating and face painting stations. Children can participate in crafts, write letters to Santa, and enjoy reindeer games at Santa’s Workshop. The event will also feature special appearances by the Grinch, Santa, and Mrs. Claus, with opportunities for photos by donation.

Food lovers can indulge in a festive lineup of options from food trucks such as Shawarma Time, Big Red’s Poutine, Tacosaurus, Beavertails, Little oOties Mini Donuts, and Corndog King. Hot chocolate and “Jingle Juice” will be available in light-up cups, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.

Kicking Off the Holiday Season

The Winter Jubilee serves as the kickoff for the Historic Downtown Abbotsford’s Jingle All the Way campaign. This initiative includes further events such as photos with the Grinch and various holiday workshops designed to engage the community throughout the festive season.
