Airlines Expand Airbus A380 Services to US in November 2025
As of November 2025, airlines are significantly increasing their operations using the Airbus A380 on routes to the United States. A total of 1,134 flights are scheduled, offering 549,934 seats according to data from Cirium, an aviation analytics firm. This shift marks the beginning of the IATA Winter Season, prompting airlines to adjust schedules in response to seasonal travel demand, particularly for long-haul flights to the US.
Emirates Leads the A380 Charge
Emirates continues to dominate the A380 market, operating the most flights to the US this November with 420 flights. These services connect six routes, all originating from its hub at Dubai International Airport (DXB). Daily flights are available to Houston (IAH), Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK) via Milan (MXP), San Francisco (SFO), and Washington (IAD). Additionally, Emirates offers a twice-daily non-stop service to JFK without a stopover in Milan. The airline’s commitment to noise reduction at JFK, where it topped the Fly Quiet Program rankings, highlights its operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.
European Carriers Join the A380 Network
The lucrative transatlantic market sees major participation from European airlines. British Airways operates 244 A380 flights to the US, with Miami (MIA) being the top destination from London Heathrow (LHR). This route features twice-daily flights for the majority of the month. BA also maintains daily services to Los Angeles and San Francisco, while flights to Washington will continue until November 7.
Lufthansa, although not serving Denver (DEN) this winter, has planned 52 round trips to the US with its A380 fleet from Munich Airport (MUC). The airline will operate 30 daily flights to Los Angeles and 22 flights (five times a week) to San Francisco, showcasing its commitment to high-demand routes.
Asia-Pacific Airlines Expand US Services
Four airlines from the Asia-Pacific region are also operating A380 flights to the US this November. Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA) features three A380s adorned with special turtle liveries, flying twice daily between Tokyo Narita (NRT) and Honolulu (HNL), amounting to 60 departures in each direction.
Australian carrier Qantas is also active in the US market, deploying its A380s on three routes. From Sydney (SYD), the airline operates 28 flights to Los Angeles and 17 flights to Dallas, while its Melbourne (MEL) to LAX route includes nine rotations.
Korean Air and Asiana Airlines round out the A380 operators in this region. Korean Air flies daily from Seoul (ICN) to New York JFK, while Asiana connects Seoul to Los Angeles with 39 flights, translating to nine weekly rotations.
The resurgence of the Airbus A380 on these routes reflects airlines’ strategies to meet increasing travel demand and leverage the aircraft’s capacity for premium services. As the winter season progresses, the performance of these flights will be closely monitored, potentially setting the stage for future expansions.
