Suspect in Niagara Region Murder of Woman May Have Fled Abroad

A 27-year-old man is suspected of murdering a woman found dead in a park in the Niagara Region and is believed to have fled the country. The victim, identified as Amanpreet Saini from North York, was discovered in Charles Daley Park in the Town of Lincoln, located just west of St. Catharines, on March 12, 2024. The Niagara Regional Police confirmed her identity following a postmortem examination conducted shortly after the discovery.

Homicide detectives have named Manpreet Singh, also 27 years old and from Brampton, as a suspect in this case. A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for his arrest on charges of second-degree murder. According to police statements released on March 15, investigators have information indicating that Singh may have left Canada shortly after the body of Saini was found.

Police characterized the incident as a targeted attack and reassured the public that there is currently no ongoing threat to community safety. They urge anyone with information regarding Singh’s whereabouts or details related to the murder to contact the Homicide Unit at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009451. Alternatively, tips can be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

The investigation continues as authorities seek to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event and apprehend the suspect.
