Dimmick School Third Graders Launch ‘Small School, Big Hearts’ Toy Drive
On December 2, 2025, students at Dimmick School in La Salle initiated a community-focused toy drive called “Small School, Big Hearts.” This campaign, led by third graders, aims to gather donations that reflect the spirit of kindness, generosity, and community involvement.
The toy drive encourages students, families, and local residents to contribute gifts that will be wrapped and delivered to Officer Santa, a collaborative effort with the La Salle Police Department and St. Jude charity. The initiative not only seeks to provide joy to children in need but also highlights the importance of coming together as a community during the festive season.
Campaign Details and Impact
Donations for the “Small School, Big Hearts” campaign will be accepted until December 12, allowing ample time for community members to participate. The response from families has been overwhelmingly positive, showcasing the school’s commitment to fostering a culture of giving among its students.
Throughout the campaign, students will play active roles in collecting, sorting, and wrapping the donated toys. This hands-on involvement is designed to teach them valuable lessons about empathy and the impact of their contributions on the lives of others.
The collaboration with local organizations such as St. Jude and the police department enhances the reach and effectiveness of the drive. By partnering with established entities, the students at Dimmick School can ensure that their efforts have a meaningful impact on the community.
Community Spirit in Action
The “Small School, Big Hearts” initiative is more than just a toy drive; it serves as a testament to the power of community spirit. As the holiday season approaches, the activities at Dimmick School remind everyone of the importance of kindness and generosity. It highlights how even small actions can lead to significant changes in the lives of those in need.
Dimmick School’s third graders are setting an inspiring example for their peers and the wider community. By actively participating in this campaign, they are not only spreading joy but also reinforcing the idea that collective efforts can make a real difference.
As December 12 approaches, the anticipation builds around the success of the toy drive and its potential to bring smiles to many faces. The Dimmick School community looks forward to the culmination of their efforts and the positive impact they will undoubtedly create.
