Skate. Launches in Early Access on PC and Consoles Today

Electronic Arts Inc. and Full Circle have officially launched Skate., the latest entry in the renowned skateboarding franchise, in Early Access as of today. The game is now available free-to-play across various platforms, including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA App. This release invites both veteran players and newcomers to experience the thrill of skateboarding in a dynamic virtual environment.
Exploring San Vansterdam
Set in the vibrant city of San Vansterdam, Skate. offers an expansive open world designed for multiplayer fun. The city is segmented into four distinct neighborhoods, each boasting its unique atmosphere, terrain, and notable skate spots. Players can explore a diverse landscape filled with rooftops, canals, plazas, parks, and even a transformed cathedral, all of which present ample opportunities for creative self-expression and exploration.
To highlight the game’s exciting environment, EA released a live-action trailer titled “Drop In.” This visually engaging piece transforms a simple DIY skate video into an imaginative journey through San Vansterdam, showcasing that anyone can skate anywhere. The trailer encapsulates the game’s essence, emphasizing that unexpected riders can emerge at any moment, turning the city into an endless canvas for daring tricks and personal narratives.
Gameplay Features and Community Engagement
The beloved Flick-it control system returns in Skate. with enhancements for improved precision and a more immersive gameplay experience. Additionally, new off-board movements allow players to climb higher, drop lower, and discover hidden skate spots throughout the city.
With the launch of Early Access, the development team plans to introduce continuous updates and new content, actively shaping the game alongside its growing community. Players have the option to enhance their experience with cosmetic purchases, as well as purchasing either the Founder’s Pack or the Founder’s Deluxe Pack to demonstrate their early support for the game.
As Skate. embarks on this new chapter, it promises to foster a community of skateboard enthusiasts eager to carve out their own paths and share their journeys in this immersive world.
