The Fable: Manga Build Roguelike Launches on Switch and PC in November

The upcoming release of The Fable: Manga Build Roguelike will bring the popular manga and anime series to life in a new format. Developed by MONO ENTERTAINMENT and published by Kodansha, the game will be available on Steam and Nintendo Switch starting on November 5, 2025. With over 28 million copies of the manga in circulation, this adaptation promises to engage both fans of the series and new players alike.
In The Fable: Manga Build Roguelike, players will navigate strategic battles using a turn-based deck-building system. The game creatively transforms fast-paced manga panels into tactical cards that players can collect, rearrange, and deploy on blank pages. Each decision made during gameplay shapes the outcome of intense encounters, requiring players to devise unique combat strategies against formidable opponents.
Players will face challenges by arranging Attack, Defense, and Move panels, allowing them to either close the distance for powerful strikes or adopt a defensive stance to evade attacks. Every hit taken during a battle impacts the narrative, as damaged pages increase the stakes of each encounter. This innovative approach promises to create an engaging experience that mirrors the tension found in the original manga.
The game features notable characters from the series. Akira, known for his lethal combat skills, can employ both hand-to-hand techniques and firearms. Yoko specializes in ambush tactics, while Suzuki utilizes traps and debuffs to manipulate the battlefield. Additionally, a special Puzzle Mode introduces one-page battle scenarios, further enhancing the challenge, while mini-games inspired by iconic moments, such as Playboy Kawai’s sake drinking contest, provide entertaining diversions.
“It is an honor to bring The Fable to a new format,” said a developer from MONO ENTERTAINMENT. “This game makes full use of the unique characteristics of manga while combining tactical puzzle elements with roguelike systems, creating a fresh new experience. Not only will fans of the series enjoy it, but even those unfamiliar with the series can feel the same tension and ingenuity of battles that the manga delivers.”
The game will launch with options for both English and Japanese languages, appealing to a broad audience of players. As anticipation builds for its release, The Fable: Manga Build Roguelike stands to make a significant impact in the gaming community when it becomes available in early November.
