Two bonded cats, Milo and Sky, are currently available for adoption at the Toronto Humane Society (THS). These ten-year-old males, one with white and grey fur and the other pure black, are described as affectionate companions looking for a new home together.

Distinct Personalities Shine Through

According to THS spokesperson Lucas Solowey, Milo and Sky exhibit contrasting personalities, which makes them an intriguing pair. Milo is characterized as curious yet initially shy. With time and gentle encouragement, he reveals his affectionate nature, enjoying chin rubs and head pets. “He leans into head pets and is particularly fond of wand toys,” Solowey noted.

In contrast, Sky is described as more reserved and thoughtful. “He prefers to observe but will eventually approach,” Solowey explained. Sky demonstrates a playful side, especially when catnip is involved, and he is gradually learning to appreciate being petted. Both cats are noted for their affectionate behavior, making them suitable for a loving home.

The two cats were surrendered by their previous guardians in May 2023 due to changes in living arrangements that made it impossible for them to stay. “They’ve been in foster homes for a while, but we are eager to find them a great family,” Solowey emphasized. “They are very sweet cats.”

Compatibility and Health

Milo and Sky are reportedly good with children and may be compatible with other pets. Solowey mentioned that there was a note indicating their acceptance of dogs, but he advised that introductions should be slow and steady.

Despite their age, both cats appear to be in good health. While the average lifespan for cats ranges between 13 to 17 years, many can live even longer. THS is particularly focused on ensuring that Milo and Sky remain together as they transition to a new home. “They would thrive in a peaceful environment with someone who understands that love can grow slowly,” Solowey stated. “In return, they offer gentle companionship and the joy of watching them blossom together.”

In an effort to facilitate their adoption, THS is waiving the fee for the second cat. Therefore, adopting both Milo and Sky would cost a total of $225. “Any environment is fine, whether rural or urban, as long as they have space to enjoy together and some quiet moments along with playtime,” Solowey added.

For those interested in adding these affectionate cats to their family, the adoption process can be initiated through the THS website at www.torontohumanesociety.com.

In a related note, a three-year-old mixed-breed dog named Lvle, featured in the previous Forever Friend column, has successfully been adopted.
